There were no arrests.Īccording to East Precinct radio dispatches, police were first called to the intersection just before 1:30 AM as a crowd of around 50 people had gathered outside the Block Party fences and the 76 service station where around two dozen cars began to take over the street in what the dispatcher described as a “chronic” issue. Four people were reported injured including a woman in critical condition after being shot in the head. UPDATE 6:00 PM: Seattle Police says one victim in the shooting has died. The Seattle Police Department has declined to provide additional information about the street racing call and directed CHS to the public disclosure process to access its reports on the hours before Sunday morning’s shooting that sent four people to the hospital at Broadway and Pike.ĬHS examination of East Precinct radio traffic reveals commands given to officers responding to the street racing scene starting around 1:30 AM to deal with the growing crowds that eventually numbered in the hundreds and the final minutes before gunfire broke out as the speeding cars and onlookers had mostly cleared from the area.
